A case study of SAN GRAPHICA Inc., which has installed the CJV200-130, was published in the sign and display industry magazine "Signs&Displays" , No. 788 (August 2025 issue).
The following is the published article in its original form.
The Proven Performance of the "CJV200" Entry Model, Combining High-Quality Output and Ease of Use
Mimaki Engineering has launched the CJV200 series (hereinafter CJV200), an eco-solvent inkjet printer that combines high-quality output with ease of use. Yu Okada of SAN GRAPHICA Inc., who has actually introduced this machine, reports experiencing various benefits. Through user feedback, we explore the appeal of the CJV200.

New model delivering high image quality with a simple design
Mimaki Engineering (hereinafter referred to as Mimaki) has been delivering high-quality industrial eco-solvent inkjet printers for over 20 years. However, from the perspective of operators new to the print business or owners inheriting a business, conventional printers were difficult for beginners in terms of operation, data creation, and maintenance, causing hesitation in adopting industrial printers.
Against this backdrop, the company launched the "CJV200" Roll-to-Roll Print & Cut System equipped with eco-solvent ink. Designed to be easy to operate, check, and maintain even for operators with limited experience, this model contributes to improved productivity on the production floor through its user-friendly operation.
Additionally, it comes standard with the newly developed design software "Simple Create," which enables users to create print and cut data even without dedicated graphics software. Furthermore, this model features a single print head from Mimaki's flagship printer, the "330 Engine." This achieves high image quality while delivering a practical print speed of 17.0 m²/h, the highest in its entry-level class.
The "CJV200 Series" was developed with the desire to create a printer that feels more accessible and can be easily introduced.
Experienced a lot of benefits such as excellent color development and reduced odor, etc
SAN GRAPHICA, the company featured in this interview as an adopter of the "CJV200," is a design production company based in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, primarily engaged in creating print media, outdoor signage, websites, and video content. Within this context, they decided to replace their existing "CJV300-130" with the "CJV200-130."
Looking back, Okada stated, "Hearing that print accuracy had improved further raised our expectations." After experiencing the actual machine at an exhibition, he personally witnessed "the beauty and speed of printing using the 330 print head." Furthermore, he explained the decision to proceed with this installation was also based on the fact that "considering installation in a limited space, the CJV200's size was just right."
Upon actual use, the first impression was that print color reproduction had improved. While the previous CJV300-130 also produced beautiful prints, printing performance has been further enhanced. For example, when printing craft beer labels, it was noted that "even fine text, such as ingredient labels affixed to the back of beer bottles, printed beautifully."
Regarding repeat jobs, they noticed differences in color reproduction compared to previous machine. However, with Mimaki's support, they adjusted the profile settings and proceeded without issues. Furthermore, after switching to the newly developed SS22 ink, they found that "the odor is almost nonexistent, and even when performing other tasks near the printer, it no longer feels burdensome."
On the other hand, while there were concerns about speed due to having only one print head, he stated, "In practical terms, it doesn't feel significantly different. Moreover, if the print speed is too fast, there's a risk of winding before the ink dries. Especially when printing long runs, winding at the right drying point is crucial, so the current speed feels just right from a practical perspective."
Practical Applications and Cost Performance of the "CJV200"
Vehicle body stickers for the time rally event "GiRO di Karuizawa" were produced using "CJV200-130".
SAN GRAPHICA used the "CJV200" to produce vehicle stickers for the "GiRO di Karuizawa" time rally event. Held in May 2025, this historic car time trial marked its 22nd anniversary. With vehicles covering 300 kilometers over two days, they were exposed to the natural environment for extended periods, even though the route used public roads. The company used the "CJV200" to print stickers with the visibility and weather resistance suitable for this event.
"The printing speed was faster than expected, allowing us to deliver early. We used SS22 ink, and there were absolutely no issues with quality, including color reproduction. Not only did the stickers not peel off during the event, but they also came off easily afterward, which was a huge help," they reflected.

In addition to these, they handle outdoor signage, exhibition panels and marking films. They have continued to utilize them widely, noting that "its ability to handle intricate cuts makes them suitable for items like company logo stickers."
They also find the practicality of the "Ink Save Function," which reduces ink usage with simple operation. 'It proves invaluable for advertising materials at one-day events or projects with limited budgets. Even at Level 5, the highest saving level, color fading isn't particularly noticeable. This contributes to improved cost performance."
Furthermore, Okada mentioned that "since switching to the CJV200, I've been utilizing the cloud-based printer status monitoring tool, PICT. This allows me to check the printer's operational status even when I'm away from it, which is a huge help given that I'm currently operating it alone." He also noted that "when handing over tasks to others in the future, its simplicity and ease of use make it easy to teach. The screen reminds you of the next task, preventing oversights."
Looking ahead, Okada expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We also want to challenge ourselves with paint films that can be applied to rough surfaces," and adding, "If we can leverage their excellent color reproduction for car wrapping, that would be another challenge." He noted that the company has been greatly assisted by Mimaki's prompt and meticulous support, placing significant trust in them. "While they have already brought innovative ideas to the world, we hope they will continue to introduce new technologies and lead the printing industry forward," he expressed his expectations.
