Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Mimaki), Headquartered in Nagano Prefecture, Tomi City; President, Kazuaki IKEDA, has newly developed three sizes of inkjet printers with maximum print width of 800 mm, 1,090 mm and 1,361 mm, and they will be released as "UCJV300-75", "UCJV300-107", "UCJV300-130" respectively in July 2018, in addition to "UCJV300-160" launched in November 2017, a versatile inkjet printer having a combined function of both printing and cutting mounted with UV-curable ink.

"UCJV300-160" has gained good reputation in the sign graphic market since its releasing, and has been chosen by many customers. Three models of "UCJV300-75", "UCJV300-107" and "UCJV 300-130" to be added to "UCJV300" lineup will provide the convenient sizes to use in respective market.

Especially, "UCJV300-75" and "UCJV300-107" represent the best sizes in the Point-of-purchase advertisement (referred to as POP, hereafter), seal, label and sticker markets. Utilizing the UV-curing ink property, these models provide on-demand printing of promotion materials of POPs, posters, banners, stickers, etc., enabling printing on materials such as paper without ink accepting layer, PET film, fabric, and the like, which were difficult to print with solvent ink so far. Also, furnished with a function of “ID Cut” which is actively used in creating POPs, stickers and labels, the work efficiency will be improved by the productive print & cut functions. Furthermore, an original software of easy creation of POP data is under development, which will facilitate making POP in a short time without using special design software requiring an expert knowledge. In terms of environment, a heating process is not necessary to "UCJV300 Series", which can save the consumption of electric power accordingly.

"LUS-170" ink mounted in "UCJV300 Series" considers the environment after printing with the acquisition of "GREENGUARD Gold certification” which ensures that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and medical facilities. It is based on most strict global standard of chemical substance diffusion.

"UCJV300 Series" provides a solution that can perform a wide range of work quickly and efficiently and ecological printing adaptive to environment with the UV-curing ink property and original print & cut software technology.

1. Application range widened by UV ink

Possible to print wider range of materials for broadening applications

Applying UV-curing ink enables to print on materials such as paper without ink accepting layer, PET film, fabric, etc. which are hard to print with solvent ink or latex ink. A greater variety of available media for POP, sticker, label seal can widen more applications, which will broad your range of business.
The white ink of "LUS-170" having a high concealment degree can show the ink color firmly to express the design as desired even when printing on colored base media.
Also, by printing on a transparent film by five layers, "Front & Back Printing" which allows to change the design on the front and back can be created, so that a new proposal of promotional tool will be added of changing the design seen from inside and outside of shop window sign, or changing the image of front and back of POP, etc.

2. Environmentally conscious Eco-printing

1) Ecology printing of electric power saving

"UCJV300 Series" is unnecessary to have a heating process like latex or solvent ink printer, due to UV ink system curing by irradiating with UV light. It is possible to reduce power consumption by up to 40% from general latex printers and up to 20% from solvent printers. In addition to running cost cut for the print, it is an eco-friendly printer.

2) Environment-friendly UV ink "LUS-170"

Since general solvent ink and latex ink contain solvent components, VOC is generated while printing and after printing. However, VOC is hardly generated in "LUS-170" containing no solvent component. "LUS-170" cures without irradiating short wavelength ultraviolet ray which causes ozone generation. And "LUS-170" yellow ink is an environmentally conscious nickel-free ink without nickel compound contained in ordinary yellow ink.
In addition, "LUS-170" ink has acquired the "GREENGUARD Gold certification" which ensures that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and medical facilities based on most strict global standard of chemical substance diffusion. "LUS-170" is an ink that takes environmental and safety aspects after printing into consideration.

• [Continuous registration mark detection] for consecutive cutting,
• [Half Cut] for cutting on the dotted line,
• [Over Cut / Corner Cut] for cutting sharply on preventing an occurrence of uncut,
• [Intermediate Cut] for a correct cut of long outline by multiple corrections of position with intermediate registration marks,
• [Register mark of Zero margin] for saving media losses to eliminate the margin between register marks.

2) Versatile function of [ID Cut] for quicker and easier print & cut operation

A versatile function [ID Cut] of "UCJV300 Series" improves the work efficiency by printing together register marks and an ID of detailed cutting information as well as material rotation information. It automatically reads the cut data of every print data and executes cutting. It saves the labor to confirm material orientation and it is unnecessary for the operator to give cutting instructions on the RIP software for each data even in a case of multiple types of design of small lot operation. The waste of material caused due to error of data transmission can be eliminated.

5. Upgraded RIP software, "RasterLink6Plus"

"RasterLink6Plus" is applied for the preview confirmation function of four-layer printing and [ID Cut] function. Those functions can reduce the number of work processes, contributing to the improvement of the work efficiency of customers. Furthermore "RasterLink6Plus" is upgraded to support Version 1.5 or above of PDF data with further reinforcement of the RIP processing functions. PDF data including transparency effect can also be printed faithfully as original data.
