The 3D printer software Cuttlefish (Fraunhofer IGD/Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD/headquartered in Germany) is now compatible with the UV-curable inkjet full-color 3D printer 3DUJ-553 manufactured by Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nagano Prefecture, Tomi City/President, Kazuaki IKEDA).
Cuttlefish is a 3D slicer software that supports full color.
Previously, the 3DUJ-553 supported output only from “3D Link”. Now it officially supports Cuttlefish. Due to this change, existing users of the 3DUJ-553 can use either 3D Link that comes as standard or Cuttlefish. Those who are already familiar with Cuttlefish can continue to use it with the 3DUJ-553.
By using the 3DUJ-553 and Cuttlefish in combination, you can take advantage of the following features and expand the possibilities of full-color 3D printing.
Features of Cuttlefish
Cuttlefish keeps the features of the 3DUJ-553, precise reproduction of models and color expression capability of over 10 million colors, and also provides the following functions:
- Support of point cloud data
- Support of RGBA textures
- The same interface can be used in combination with other company's printers.
