Mimaki is pleased to announce that the Mimaki 3DUJ-553 UV curable inkjet full color 3D printer has been certified by Shapeways, the world's largest 3D printing output service, and full color 3D printing has been added to their service lineup.
Shapeways, headquartered in New York, is one of the world's leading providers of 3D printing services utilizing proprietary software. Through a dedicated website, users can request 3D printing on demand.
According to Shapeways, this partnership will make it possible to create surgical prep models for the medical field, where color, modeling detail and accuracy are vital, as well as models for real estate development including buildings, their layout and related landscapes. It will also enable the printing of collectors' items, such as custom character prints from online games. By leveraging its expertise in full-color 3D printing and adding to the possibilities of Shapeways' 3D printing, the company has announced that it will be able to respond more flexibly to the full-color designs demanded by its customers.
The Mimaki 3DUJ-553 3D printer, is capable of full color expression with over 10 million colors and high-definition modeling. In the domestic market, the 3DUJ-553 is currently being used in the fields of architecture, education, medicine, and the arts.
Mimaki Engineering is working to further improve the expressive power of 3D printing, which requires extremely high precision, by enhancing color expression and realizing high-definition modeling using inkjet technology cultivated in 2D.
