Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tomi-shi, Nagano, Pref.; President: Kazuaki Ikeda), specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, is to announce the release of "UCJV330 series" a versatile UV-LED Roll-to-Roll inkjet printer with significantly improved productivity and image quality for sign graphics printing applications, and will begin worldwide sales at the end of October 2023.

Since launching the world-first UV inkjet printer with white ink in 2004 and since then we have continued to pursue UV printing technology and manufacture products to deliver higher quality and versatility to our customers. We have now completed “UCJV330 series”, by combining high quality and productivity of our flagship model “330 series”, with our UV printing technology. UCJV330 series has significantly improved productivity and image quality over previous models.

In the sign and graphics market, most of outdoor advertising signs and vehicle graphics are printed on polyvinyl chloride (referred to as PVC) sheets using inkjet printers, however in recent years, local landscape ordinances have begun to restrict the posting of outdoor advertisements and the use of PVC sheets has begun to be restricted in response to environmental issues. In the future, it will be necessary to change the location of advertising signs (indoor walls, windows, and floors) and switch to media other than PVC sheets.

UCJV330 series is equipped with the white and clear inks as standard, in addition to basic color inks therefore it enables to print on a variety of expressions not only on white sheets used for general outdoor advertising, but also on milky white (translucent), transparent, and colored base sheets. And in addition to vinyl chloride, a wide range of substrates can be printed on, including PET, PU (polyurethane) and other resin films, cloth, and paper (including uncoated paper).

Also, UV printing does not require drying time for ink after printing, and post-processing such as lamination or cutting can be done immediately after printing, which, combined with the productivity of the UCJV330, supports the growth and diversification of our customers' businesses by enabling them to finish jobs received that day in a short period of time.

2. Clear ink that expands the design potential makes it possible to produce high value-added printed deliverables. Furthermore, 2.5D print and watermark print functions have been added.
3. Support for up to 5-layer printing and it expands the range of applications and the added value of deliverables.
4. Equipped UV curable ink that does not require drying time after printing and a post-print cut function. Can be used for a wide variety of applications such as store decorations, posters, labels, stickers, pop-ups, etc.

High quality image UV Roll-to-Roll inkjet printer "UCJV330 series" is for sign graphics and it supports your business in a versatile and diverse way. The UCJV330 series is expected to sell 1,000 units annually (worldwide).

At the same time as the release of the UCJV330 series, we will launch “PICT”, a cloud-based printer status monitoring tool, available for download from our website for customer using Mimaki printer products. “PICT” supports customers in improving the efficiency of their printing operations and production management by enabling them to visualize the operational status and performance of their printers from a PC or mobile device, even from a remote location.

1. Provided by downloading from Mimaki’s website and it can be used on PCs and mobile via web browser.
2. Visual status of all printers in the fleet improves work efficiency.
3. The printer operation and ink usage results are visualized for each printer and designated groups, which is useful for maintenance planning, ink inventory management, and production planning.

(1) Clear ink: Gloss (varnished) print on color ink or matte (frosted) print on transparent film

3. Support for up to 5-layer printing and it expands the range of applications and the added value of deliverables.


(1) 2-layer print – By overlaying a white or clear plate on a color plate, a vivid expression is created on colored or transparent film. (Figure3, 4 above)


(2) 3-layer print -By inserting a white plate between two color plates of the same pattern, the expressive color is maintained for daylight and backlight source illumination. Adding value to the production of electric signboards.

(3) 4-layer print -By inserting the same color plate with a different color in front of and behind the white plate, it is possible to produce decorative signs with different expressions for day and night.

(4) 5-layer print- By sandwiching a color plate with a different design and a light-shielding plate in front of and behind the white plate, it is possible to produce window signs with different designs on the outside and inside.

4. Equipped UV curable ink that does not require drying time after printing and a post-print cut function. Can be used for a wide variety of applications such as store decorations, posters, labels, stickers, pop-ups, etc.


-Printing and cutting in one unit. Automatic changeover from print to cut mode with roller pressure to hold down media. There is no need to switch, and the finished product is of high quality.
