Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tomi-shi, Nagano, Pref.; President: Kazuaki Ikeda), specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, is to announce the release of the "CJV200 series" (hereafter CJV200), a Roll to Roll print & cut MFP with Eco-solvent ink. The CJV200 series will be exhibited for the first time in world wide at the "Printing United 2024 (Las Vegas, USA)" to be held from September 10, 2024.
More than 20 years have passed since we launched the JV3-130S, the world's first high image quality and low cost EcoSolvent inkjet printer in 2002, and our printers have become one of the benchmarks in the sign graphics market. Each and every one of our customers has developed their own unique innovations to maximize the use of our printers as a business tool.
On the other hand, many operators who are new to the printing business or owners who are taking over the business are put off from purchasing industrial printers because they find it difficult to understand how to use the printer, how to create data, and how to maintain the printer as a bottleneck. Our desire to create a printer that is more accessible and easy to introduce led us to develop the CJV200.
The CJV200 is equipped with a single print head of "330 Engine" in our flag-ship printer, enabling even inexperienced operators to produce printed products beautifully, quickly, and easily.
The CJV200 is also equipped with a variety of drafting modes to suit various printing applications, and can output 17.0 m²/h in the practical drafting mode*1, which is one of the highest productivity rates for an entry-level printer, contributing to reliable print output even during busy periods.
*1: When 4-color ink set (CMYK) is used. 8.5 m²/h when 8-color ink set (+LcLmOrLk) is used.
In addition, a new GBL*2 -free eco-solvent ink, "SS22," will be released worldwide (including Japan) ahead of our competitors and installed in the CJV200 series. SS22 ink does not contain GBL, the use of which has been increasingly regulated worldwide in recent years, and is therefore safer for operators than ever before. SS22 ink inherits the weather resistance, dryness, and other features of SS21 ink, which has long been popular in the market, and is the best-class in the industry, and can be switched to CJV200 from conventional machines with confidence. The SS22 is also sold in an environmentally friendly, non-plastic paper ink cartridge*3 package, making it the perfect partner model for businesses entering the printing business.
*2: GBL: Gamma-Butyrolactone (substance). A solvent raw material that is also found in familiar drugs. It is generally added as a constituent material of ink in our and other companies' conventional solvent printers.
*3: The ink cartridges are made mainly of paper, which significantly reduces the amount of plastic used compared to conventional cartridge cases.

CJV200 Overview
１） Beautiful printing. Mimaki's flag-ship printer’s "330 Engine" a single print head is mounted to achieve high image quality.
The CJV200 is an entry model printer equipped with a single print head of Mimaki’s flag-ship graphic printer "330 series." Mimaki's proprietary imaging technology and high-density, high-definition print head enable beautiful rendering of everything from human skin to high-density graphics.
２） Reliable even during busy periods. Highest practical print speed of 17.0m²/h at the entry level
The sign graphics market experiences busy periods of print output throughout the year due to factors such as events and promotions, and there are times when print businesses are unable to accept work due to lack of production capacity in their facilities. The CJV200 entry-level printer achieves the highest practical print speed of 17.0 m²/h and can handle seasonal variations in output volume (approximately 1.6 times* higher than our previous models). An automatic nozzle check unit is available as an option, which eliminates substrate waste even during unattended continuous operation.

The model is equipped with many "easy-to-use" features for entry-level users, such as a maintenance cover that opens and closes widely to improve work efficiency (Fig.1), short waiting time for head cleaning, the newly developed “Simple Create” design software enables the creation of print and cut data without the need for specialized software (Fig.2), the "Ink Save Function" allows users to reduce ink consumption with simple operations (Fig. 3).
In addition, the DAS (Dot Adjustment System) automatically completes initial adjustments with simple operations (Fig.4), even for novice operators or first-time users of print materials, to achieve high-quality prints with no variation in operator skill. This is a partner model that supports business entry and growth.
４） Release of the new GBL-free eco-solvent ink "SS22" worldwide ahead of competitors.
Inks for general eco-solvent printers contain an ingredient (GBL) whose use has been increasingly regulated worldwide in recent years. Ahead of other competitors, we will launch the new eco-solvent ink "SS22," which does not contain GBL and is safer for operators that ever before, worldwide, including Japan, and install it in the CJV200 series. Customers using our conventional machines can switch to the CJV200 with confidence. It is also sold in a paper cartridge format that significantly reduces the amount of plastic used, making it an environmentally friendly solution.
