Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tomi-shi, Nagano, Pref.; President: Kazuaki Ikeda), specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, is to announce the launch of the "TxF300-1600," a DTF (Direct-To-Film) printer with 130% productivity of conventional model for custom T-shirts printing for textile and apparel printing applications. The company will exhibit the printer for the first time in world wide at the "Printing United 2024 (Las Vegas, USA)" to be held from September 10, 2024.

Our first DTF printer, the "TxF150-75" and more productive model "TxF300-75," launched in 2023, have been highly evaluated by our customers for its colorful prints and stable operation with less ejection problems. However, we have been receiving request from the market for a professional model DTF solution with even higher productivity. The new “TxF300-1600” has increased the productivity of custom T-shirts prints approx. 30% compared to the conventional model (TxF300-75) (Fig 1.).

The DTF print system enables clear decoration on a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, blends, and polyester, and on dark-colored fabrics with one print system (Fig 2). Furthermore, the printing width has been extended to approx. double that of the conventional model, enabling original printing on relatively wide interior fabrics. This makes it easy to decorate commercially available curtains and floor mats, which are in a wide variety of dark-colored fabrics, to create colorful, original interior decorations (Fig 3).



Overview of this press release

  • Mimaki Engineering announces the launch of the TxF300-1600, a DTF printer with approx. 130% of the custom T-shirt print productivity (compared to previous models, TxF300-75).
  • With a printing width that is approx. twice that of conventional machines, this machine can be used not only for printing original T-shirts, but also for interior fabrics such as curtains and floor mats, for which there are many types of wide, dark-colored fabrics.

The “TxF300-1600” is equipped with the same functions for safe and stable operation as its predecessor,
while contributing to increased productivity.

2) Adopted a degassed ink using aluminum pack as the printer’s ink packaging
3) Equipped Mimaki’s technology NCU※2 and NRS※3, supports end-user’s production without interruption
4) The eco-friendly genuine Mimaki DTF ink obtains ECO-PASSPORT certification, that is required to obtain OEKO-TEX® on the final printed products.

The TxF300-1600 is scheduled to go on sale in October 2024, and expected to sell approx. 150 units per year (worldwide) for printing on primary original T-shirts and interior fabrics. We will provide the printer, ink, and RIP software. At the time of sales of the printer, we will provide customers with our recommended specifications for the film, hot-melt powder, powder application equipment, post-processing equipment, and heat press transfer machine used in the DTF process (Figure 4).
