Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tomi-shi, Nagano, Pref.; President: Kazuaki Ikeda), specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, is to announce its release of Mimaki's first UV-DTF (UV curable – Direct To Film) printer "UJV300DTF-75." We will exhibit this product for the first time in the world at the "8th PROMOTIONAL GOODS EXPO – SPRING (at Tokyo/Japan)" to be held from April 2nd, and propose new possibilities for the production of custom-made goods using the UV-DTF printing method. We will also propose it to visitors as a printing method that creates high added value in a wide range of applications such as sign graphics, interior decorations, and decorations for daily necessities.
UV-DTF is a decoration method in which a design printed on a special film is transferred to the target material.
It can easily decorate the surface of materials with uneven or curved surfaces, which has been difficult with conventional UV printing. UV-DTF's exclusive film consists of two parts: a glued film and a transfer sheet. (Figure 1)

Since only the design printed on the film is transferred to the object, UV-DTF eliminates the need for weeding (removal of margins) manually as with sticker sheets. Also, since the design is not printed directly on the material, the risk of misprinting is low due to misalignment of the material setting position, so that expensive items can be decorated with confidence. This is a convenient printing method that expands the range of custom-made goods production (Figure 2).

In conventional roll-to-roll printers, the film is held down by pinch rollers while being fed to achieve stable conveyance. However, UV-DTF films have glue on the printing surface, so pressing the film down with pinch rollers causes the glue to peel off. In addition, if the film is conveyed only by the force of the film take-up without using pinch rollers, the film would become serpentine, resulting in poor print quality, and the risk of the head hitting the raised film and causing it to malfunction would increase.
The UJV300DTF-75 is equipped with our proprietary silicon pinch rollers that prevent film glue from peeling off and ensure stable transfer (Figure 3). Furthermore, the machine is designed to be easy to use even for beginner operators, as it can easily set even thin and difficult-to-handle transfer sheets.

The "UJV300DTF-75" is a UV-DTF printer that can be used with confidence, inheriting the high image quality and stable functions of our "UCJV300 series" UV inkjet printers, which continue to gain a high reputation in the market.
- Less graininess and beautiful gradation. Accurate printing of small characters and fine lines
- Support functions to minimize trouble. Automatic nozzle check and nozzle recovery functions reduce equipment downtime
- Ink circulation function keeps white ink density constant and prevents nozzle clogging
- Anti-collision sensor prevents collision between the head and the film to prevent malfunctions due to operation errors
In addition, the "UJV300DTF-75" is equipped with our newly developed UV ink. This ink is a next-generation ink that is safe and does not contain substances that are expected to be restricted under the European SVHC regulation*1 and is scheduled to obtain GREENGUARD GOLD certification*2.
Our UV-DTF printing combines hard and soft inks to achieve both strength and flexibility in decorative designs, and has achieved industry-leading durability. The fusion of our long-cultivated UV printing technology, newly developed film transport system, and next-generation inks will greatly expand the possibilities of the made-to-order goods business.
The UJV300DTF-75 is scheduled to go on sale around June 2025, and the price will be announced on the official website and other media in conjunction with the release date. We expect to sell 400 units of this product (worldwide total) in the first three years after its release. Recommended specifications for the exclusive film will be presented to customers at the time of printer sales.
