Two Products to Be Showcased Together at PRINTING United 2026 in September

Mimaki La-meccanica: LAR-55 / LAR-63, SKH-2416

Nagano, Japan, September 8th, 2026

Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tomi-City, Nagano-Prefecture; President and CEO: Kazuaki Ikeda) is launching a new brand for printer peripheral equipment (equipment used in pre- and post-printing processes) called “Mimaki La-meccanica.” As the first products under this brand, the company is announcing two products : the "LAR-55/LAR-63" large-format laminators for sign graphics, and the "SKH-2416" desktop shaker for DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing. These two products will be exhibited simultaneously at "PRINTING United 2026," to be held in Las Vegas, USA, on September 23.

As part of our medium- to long-term growth strategy, "Mimaki Innovation 30," we have set forth the goal of "Taking on New Challenges." By leveraging the inkjet printing technology we have refined over the years and the feedback we receive directly from our customers’ workplaces, we are actively pursuing new opportunities in the fields surrounding the printing business.

Launched as part of this initiative, "Mimaki La-meccanica" is a brand of printer peripheral equipment designed to enhance the value of the entire printing workflow, including both pre- and post-printing processes. By pursuing the safety, ease of operation, and reliability required in printing environments, we aim to reduce the burden on operators. Furthermore, by providing a safe working environment and ensuring consistent quality, we will contribute to our customers’ increased productivity and business growth.

Product Overview

"LAR-55/LAR-63" Large-Format Laminators for Sign Graphics

In sign graphics production, roll media with a width of 1 to 1.5 meters is primarily used, and the material is laminated after printing. The large-format roll media produced by the printer is heavy, and loading it into the laminator can be physically demanding for the operator or may require the assistance of multiple people.

The "LAR-55/LAR-63" features a one-touch roll media loading mechanism (Fig. 1) that facilitates smooth media installation and replacement. This reduces the burden of daily setup changes and enables stable lamination operations even by a single operator.

The LAR-55/LAR-63 is scheduled to go on sale in various countries starting in October. Annual sales of 380 units worldwide are projected for the first year.

Desktop DTF Shaker "SKH-2416"

DTF printing is a printing method in which a design is printed onto a specialized film, hot-melt powder is applied, and the design is then transferred to the fabric using heat. By changing the type of powder used, this method supports transfer printing onto a variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and nylon. The powder application process is typically performed either manually or using automated equipment; however, manual application carries the risk of powder scattering into the surrounding area, while automated equipment requires extensive cleaning and maintenance whenever the powder type is changed (Fig. 2).

The "SKH-2416" features a design that seals off the processing area during powder application, thereby minimizing powder scatter and helping to create a safer working environment (Fig. 3). Additionally, the use of a removable powder tank reduces the cleaning burden when switching powder types (Fig. 4).

Furthermore, it supports operation without a power supply, increasing flexibility in equipment layout within DTF printing environments (Fig. 5). It can be flexibly integrated into DTF printing environments that utilize multiple devices, such as printers and ovens.

The SKH-2416 is scheduled to go on sale in various countries starting in November. Annual sales of 200 units worldwide are projected for the first year.

The "LAR-55/LAR-63" and "SKH-2416" models have obtained safety certifications in Japan, North America, and various European countries*, and we are marketing them as products that customers can install and use with confidence. Furthermore, they can be used in combination not only with Mimaki printers but also with printers from other manufacturers. *Expected to be obtained by the release date

As ancillary equipment supporting the printing process, Mimaki La-meccanica helps create a safe working environment for operators and supports improved productivity in the printing business. We will continue to develop products that address the various challenges faced in printing workplaces.

These products are scheduled to be unveiled sequentially at major trade shows in various countries, as well as at invitation-only exhibitions organized through our sales network.
