Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture; President and CEO: Kazuaki Ikeda) announces the launch of the "TxF330-800," a DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer for textile and apparel printing applications.

Building on previous models that have earned strong customer recognition for their reliable and stable performance, the TxF330-800 is a production model for DTF printing that further advances both productivity and creative expression. It enables customers to optimize operation according to their production styles and output requirements, bringing new value to apparel printing operations.

DTF printing is a printing method in which a design is printed onto a special transfer film and then transferred onto fabric using a heat press. Unlike screen printing, it requires no plate preparation and enables vivid printing on a wide range of fabrics, including light- and dark-colored materials, cotton, and polyester. These advantages have led to its rapid adoption, particularly for T-shirts and other apparel products, in production environments that require small-lot, high-mix, and short-turnaround production.

A DTF printing system make it possible to print on wider range of fabric such as cotton, mixed fabric and polyester, also on dark colored fabric.

Mimaki was quick to respond to this growing trend, launching its "TxF Series" of DTF printers in 2023. Drawing on the inkjet technologies we have developed over many years, the series has earned strong recognition from customers around the world for its high reliability and print quality.

The TxF330-800 is the flagship model in Mimaki’s DTF printer lineup, equipped with our "330 Engine" for fast, high-quality printing. It delivers rich reproduction of intermediate colors often required in custom T-shirt production, enabling vivid, high-contrast color expression.

Furthermore, two ink configurations are available to suit different operational needs: "Productivity-focused" and "Creativity-focused."

Two Ink Configurations to Meet Different Needs

For Productivity-focused Operation

With a CMYK+W ink configuration, the TxF330-800 delivers high productivity, enabling larger volumes to be produced in less time while maintaining the high level of quality required for apparel applications. With approximately 1.5 times the productivity of the previous model, it helps increase daily output and improve the ability to meet delivery deadlines in high-volume production environments and during peak periods.

It also reproduces fine lines and small text in logos and illustrations with crisp, clear edges, enabling sophisticated graphic expression. From rich, high-density solid colors to smooth, natural skin tones in portraits, the printer minimizes graininess to achieve a natural finish, helping deliver the consistent visual quality required for apparel printing.

For Creativity-focused Operation

With a six-color plus white ink configuration that adds the new Sky Blue (SB) and Pale Pink (PP) inks to CMYK, the TxF330-800 maintains the operability required for production use while delivering highly saturated, clear color reproduction that gives designs even greater visual impact. Color reproduction is particularly enhanced across blues to greens and pinks to reds, enabling more vivid and well-defined color expression.

The expanded color range also makes it easier to reproduce pale tones and subtle color differences, while achieving smooth, natural results in designs that include gradients. For applications such as brand logos and character merchandise, where color and the overall impression of the finished product directly affect its value, this broader expressive capability helps differentiate products through design.

Furthermore, while retaining the reliable and stable performance highly regarded in previous models, the TxF330-800 introduces enhanced features to support extended continuous operation.

First, the white ink capacity has been increased to a maximum of approximately four liters, enabling nonstop printing of an entire 100-meter roll of film. This reduces the need for ink replenishment and supports stable continuous printing during overnight operation and long print jobs.

The printer also features automatic cartridge switching, allowing an empty cartridge to be replaced even while printing is in progress. By minimizing the time required for operator intervention, this feature helps improve overall production efficiency.

In addition, a newly developed film transport control system enables highly accurate film feeding even during long print runs. Stable transport helps maintain consistent print quality throughout continuous operation, supporting a print production environment that keeps production moving.

The TxF330-800 will be showcased at major exhibitions around the world, beginning with the "Order Goods Business Show 2026," which will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 15.
