PANTONE® color collection is now supported

Mimaki Engineering Co. Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Kazuaki Ikeda), a global industry leader and manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and cutting plotters, announces that it has upgraded RasterLink6 to Version 5.0.
RasterLink6 is a high-performance, user-friendly, Mimaki-genuine RIP software. Its latest version includes three new features added to its conventional useful functions:
1. The global standard PANTONE® color collection has been added to the preset color collection
The Adobe® Illustrator®-compatible DIC color collection and Mimaki original color collections including a metallic color collection, have already been added to the preset color collection. The latest version supports the PANTONE® color collection, which is widely used throughout the world for color matching. With this version upgrade, the time and cost incurred in color matching are significantly reduced. PANTONE® colors in print files are automatically detected and converted to equivalent colors. Color differences are numerically specified, leading to more accurate and efficient color matching without requiring professional expertise.
2. Creating FOTOBA Cut Marks
The latest version enables the creation of cut marks for globally used FOTOBA cutters. This capability can be used with other functions, such as copying, layout arrangement, and tiling. Marks can simply be placed on the RasterLink6 operation window without using other design software.
3. Measured colors can be used as replacement colors
In the previous version, special software was required when setting a measured color as a replacement color. The latest version enables the setting of measured colors obtained from color patches or samples as replacement colors without the use of special software. Furthermore, frequently used colors can be stored in the color collection, enabling more accurate color reproduction while reducing the time and cost incurred in color matching.
