Color collections for sublimation transfer printing with 520 colors

Mimaki Engineering Co. Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Kazuaki Ikeda), a leading global manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and cutting plotters, announces the release of the "Artista Textile Color Collection" for textile printing as a new product of the "Artista" brand. The first collection, "Artista Textile Color Collection for Fluorescence" is provided for sublimation transfer printing and is available on our website.

Recently, in the textile industry, conventional analog printing has been replaced by plateless digital printing to meet diverse market trends. Digital on-demand printing allows quick delivery and inventory reduction. However, the textile/apparel printing industry has been without a standard color chart since it made the move from conventional to digital textile printing. Color matching has been a major issue. Operators have to print colors repeatedly to obtain target ones using their own methods, which is very difficult and time-consuming compared to analog printing.

Simple and speedy color matching

Color matching has been an issue in the textile printing process. The "Artista Textile Color Collection" provides simple and accurate color matching. The printing color can be specified by selecting from the newly installed swatches in Adobe® Illustrator® or CorelDRAW®. An image file is printed on a Mimaki printer using the RIP software, RasterLink6(*1) or TxLink3(*2). The color collection enables colors to be represented accurately. It equalizes print colors between different factories, thereby reducing the time required for color matching.

The first collection: "Artista Textile Color Collection for Fluorescence"

Today, we provide the first collection—Artista Textile Color Collection for Fluorescence—on our website. This color collection contains 520 colors including the eye-catching fluorescent ones that enhance visible impact and color brightness for sports/fashion apparels and interior fabrics.

We are planning to expand the "Artista Textile Color Collection" for other textile printing beyond the sublimation transfer printing.
