Nagano, Japan, May 23, 2024
Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tomi-city, Nagano, Japan; President & CEO: Kazuaki Ikeda), a leading manufacturer of industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters, and 3D printers, will be present at drupa 2024, the world's largest printing and media exhibition, taking place from May 28-June 7, 2024, in Düsseldorf, Germany. In line with the drupa theme ”We Create the Future”, Mimaki will showcase the latest digital printing solutions for revolutionizing the printing industry at their booth in Hall 9, A04.
The commercial printing market (market that prints primary on paper) has seen a decline in demand for printing in recent years due to the continuing trend of remote work in the after-corona, paperless meeting materials, and the digitization of promotional documents such as catalogs and direct mail. In order to grow the printing business, it is necessary to shift printing applications to more growth markets and higher value-added applications.
At this year's drupa exhibition, the first in eight years, Mimaki will propose the solutions for the printing business to grow by offering the following labor-saving, user-friendly and environmentally-friendly digital printing solutions in addition to its market-leading on-demand printing applications on materials such as metals, plastics, and textiles that we have been leading their applications.
1. M2COA : Automated Order Goods Printing Package System
Previously announced in Japan in December 2023, the M2COA printing process automation system will be unveiled for the first time the global market at drupa 2024. The system is designed to be a highly-efficient solution to address labor shortage by significantly reducing operator time in the printing process by approximately 90%. This is achieved through the automation of placement, printing instructions and collection of printed media by a robotic arm that operates in conjunction with Mimaki’s UV printers.
2. TxF300-75 : Direct - To - Film (DTF) printer for custom garments
With the TxF300-75 DTF printer, Mimaki offers a simple and reliable method for producing printwear. Compared to conventional techniques such as screen printing and the rubber transfer method, the TxF300-75 significantly simplifies the production by eliminating the intensive process of plate creation or weeding. Additionally, compared to DTG (Direct-To-Garment) printing, Mimaki’s DTF technology provides a labor-saving solution of the process.
3. JFX600 and CFX series : Printing + processing system for original packaging production
Mimaki will showcase the print-and-cut combo of the JFX600 series and CFX series for packaging production. Combined with the fast and high-print quality JFX600 flatbed UV printer, the new CFX series, the flatbed cutting plotter introduced in March 2024, Combining high-speed, high-quality flatbed UV printer JFX600 and the new CFX series, the flatbed cutting plotter introduced in March 2024, Mimaki proposes an environmentally friendly solution that reduces inventory risk and CO2 emissions from disposal by enabling prototyping and small-lot production of corrugated packages, which until now have been produced mainly by analog printing.
